  So, did you know any Janitors or Landscape people?

  lol!!

  okay i know this is a dumb question, but was it just me or did we seem to have a lot of janitors and landscape people in that religion.

  i did know a couple of higher paying professions in our congregation, nurses, large business owners and a couple of retail managers.

  My brother in law-owned a really big landscape company. He employed a lot of witnesses. He had a lot of government contracts for highways and commercial stuff. Made a lot of money in it.

  And there are quite a few brother's and sister's here with cleaning businesses, homes and commercial. They employ a lot of pioneers. One brother in our hall really stood out though, because he was absolutely brilliantly intelligent. He gave the funniest, most interesting talks, people had tears running down their faces from laughing so hard, he was so funny. His wife was a chartered accountant, and I'm sure he could have been anything he wanted, he was so smart, but he was a janitor. Go figure. He was very kind and gentle too. I think he suffered from depression and had bad nerves too. That could explain why he needed a low stress job.

  We also had two doctors, in our area, one in our hall. Their entire practices were almost exclusively witnesses. One lost his license for having an affair with a patient. The other retired and testified for the society in blood transfusion lawsuits. So yeah, there really is all kinds of people in the org.

  i moved to dallas a few months ago, and started hearing about a drug that i hadn't heard of before.

  it is called "ice".

  evidently, it is a methamphetamine, and extremely addictive.

  This problem is bigger than you can take on. I live close to Vancouver, and the suburbs are crawling with it too. They are calling us the meth capital of Canada here. You can't find a city without it now , but you can definitely find a better apartment in a safer neighborhood. Doesn't have to be more expensive. Sometimes, just a more family oriented neighborhood helps.

  OK, here's my vote for my two favorites

  ocsrf: He is a great guy. Very intelligent and supportive and sane and reasonable. (I think he is under- rated because he is a low-key kind of guy.)

  tetrapod: He is also a great guy, very intelligent and supportive and crazy and unpredictable. (Yes, I know he is already on every girl's hot list but I just had to say it again)

  I have at times been very popular and at other times been very definitely unpopular in the various congregations I have been in. It depends how you define "popular". JW's, like any large organization, are full of sub-groups. People of an alike nature tend to gravitate to each other.

  When I was a child, my mother was a partier who got df'd for adultery. We had friends but we were not in the thick of the congregation. When my father re-married a pioneer, and became an elder, we were very popular as a family and invited to everything. I gave great talks, went out in service and was sometimes held up as an example to other youths. A few years later, I stopped going out in service, was a big flirt, and hated by most of the women in the congregation. Got df'd at 18. Big scandal. Lots of gossip. Jezebel type, like Brooke.

  Three years later, reinstated, hung out with all the elder's and their wives, pioneered, very popular again. Flirted with one of the elder's, he flirted back, his wife got pissed off, gossiped and slandered me all over the hall. Bang, unpopular again. Had to move.

  Then I had a baby, got busy trying to be the perfect JW family, husband made an MS. Now, we were popular, a good example to the hall. Ahhh! popular again! Then I got really bored, went to university, missed alot of meetings, got really sick, missed almost all the meetings and service too. What do you know? I am unpopular again(or more accurately, invisible).

  So, I guess you could say "popularity" is very fluid and very dependent on who you are with and their perceptions of you. It has very little to do with reality and who you really are as a person. More to do with how you may be acting at the time and if the people you are in contact with are appreciative of that or judgemental.

  im not jws never was after long time on this boards i just cant believe this s***t still going on in this century why the public is not aware about all the horror this cult is all about?.

  i know this man jws he is ms (he work for me) at the beginning he was afraid of me he was looking at me like i was satan himself or better im lost sheep and sometime i was a goat.baaaaaaa lol, he is married and was virgin at age 28yr (what a f**** s*** this is?

  My sister received a letter asking her to attend a judicial committee. To answer questions regarding spending the night at her boyfriend's. It was my parents who spied on her and turned her in. She was inactive at the time. Anyway, she was still a virgin, but they disfellowshipped her in absenteeim (is that the right word, I don't think so. See Z, even the English have trouble with English. lol) Anyway, since she was alread df'd for fornication, she moved in with her boyfriend and did it for real. They are happily married now.

  Lola: My very first job was for an insurance company. I worked there till I got reinstated. Congrats on going jedi. I like to think I helped a little. You owe me. You have to stay up and help me when it's my turn.

  I love the rugrats. I used to watch it with my son when he was little. Chucky was my favorite. Such a little nerd! But lovable. Like me.
